They shall claim self-defense a joke
Having drawn-up silencing guns
In taking acquisitional aim
Subject to defamation lies for protection
Behind the rub of tarnished legal cloaks
Nondisclosing their collective loud mouth
Whose soul remains forever sold
Alongside artistic freedom’s waive

It felt like magic followed me

Foreshadowing my youth
When I would trip upon this earth

And see stars coming to

An Abject Prayer

It’s not because she’ll tease me
Or make me wish I’m there
Trick my mind to thinking
Someone truly cares

It’s not the song within my heart
Or how she can’t compare
To any love I’ve ever known
Beyond an abject prayer

Malignant Heart

I had a malignant heart
Past beating to decay

Fire filled its pulsing chambers
Purged my coursing veins

Hopelessness and self-contempt
Died among those flames…
And while no phoenix ever rose
Nor any angel’s face did show
I felt self-love regained

Bring me that Court Jester
He thinks he is a scribe
I shall kill this royal pain
Snuff out his silly life!

Send him to the guillotine
We’ll watch his swelled head roll
Then let our knight take one last kick–
An American field goal!

Unrequited

She could never say she loves me
Believes our time has passed
Still I’ll reveal what’s in my heart
And get some song and dance

Vigilance

candlelight
Once mourning welcomes darkness
Before grief burns to its end
Each day as bright as candlelight
When your heart won’t seem to¬†
mend

Yet amid such deep set loneliness
These times leave healing change
And remains of loving vigilance
Seeing through life’s pain
