Intergalactic Outsider

Under dying light of cyclic eve
When dry wind susurrates howling
Sifting through wavering palm fronds
Scuttling runaway road sand

My heart beats thudding rapidly
Mind racing from adrenal glands

Because it’s one’s will in time
Considering thought nonlinear
Tangential to affixed biology
So often illusive; dreamlike in clarity
An ineffable sound to invisible muse
In retrospect when hindsight deafens
Fear itself that I must lose…

Ambling through proverbial minefields
With tennis rackets for sensible shoes

Teetering on edge of fraught intensity
…each knotted fibrous sinew
…each entwining charged synapse
From grey to darkest matter shocking
Until perception slips…
From moist tenuous grasp

Love animates our very blood
Born to further ancestral collapse
As we live upon revolving earth
While aiming for space to finally crash

Building Parts

Learning that we carry through
Seeing this world as if anew
Not expecting what’s perceived
Building parts in stalling dreams

Imagination Limits?

How many times discovered
Known yourself
Why even bother
Lies are no help

Whether outside
Inside thrive
Fireside to candle light
Follow through, just be you
Gone in life’s mystery
Sharp wit fluidity
Exuberant, energy
Predictive states
Antiparticles vibrate
Photons annihilate
Time, and wait…

My pride fears too fake
Though I know I must face
No longer shame, heights, and lines erased
Matter’s grave space
Emotional glow to compel
We hardly know why the universe grows
And with us old, appreciative
Eternity within caves
Still a neanderthal in nature’s awe
Combustion through the sky
Head spun clocked by a shovel
Nobody knows tomorrow
Only another day
Or is it why
This very moment
Our imagination limits?
Like we forgot about yesterday
What stares back before us
Beyond a menagerie of memory

To light the way
You must seize the day
Inspired dreams sure do fade
Seek spirit in tribute
Peace from rage
Equanimity equals
The human need to create

Warm rain lingers soft
Upon the fair-lit lily stalk
Feeling giddy and silly
Don’t know what to do with me
All the pressure like the first time
I came to find that I’m losing
In respect given, pride taken

Out of my comfort zone
Treading turbulent water
Long solitary walks
There’s a lake in my dream
Waterfall splash and upward spring
Fringed by forest pine
Mosquito sting
Fire crackling, branches snapping
Inside I’m nervous-laughing
Hidden my true self
From youth all alone
Poems I wrote in exasperation
Dramatic jejune desolation
Until I awoke mid the core of fear
Kind heart of another most sincere
We finally met
A depression-thawed wonderment
Love no longer in my imagination
Joyous social-ineptitude disintegration
Feeling I’ve only begun
To discover and ponder
A true person beside myself
Who thinks my writing stinks
Yet genuinely obliged to offer help
And we fully realize life is brief
Beyond ourselves who knows?
Her opinion about my writing
I’m trying hard not to agree
Honesty, always a relief
People don’t know
You’re amazing to me
