Michigan Sunrise

Sky spreads serenity
Atmosphere melts
Peaceful fallout
Radiant health

Torch upon
Rich evergreen
Peaceful wake
Though it seems coincidence
Or purely dream

Crisp air fresh
Deep held breath
Golden sky on fire perched
Inspiring bold primaries clash colorcast

As if then calm
Horizon line glows
Contemplating celestial bodies
Philosophizing death unknown

Clouds that cool
Over volcanic hell
A beautiful moment
Eternal in itself

Branching Out

Posted in Blog, Image Poetry, Poetry Reading, writing with tags , , , , , , , , , on July 13, 2010 by dustus

Synaptic offshoots reaching frayed
Spreading from the roots time saved
Standing calm past wind-waved howling
Memory challenged, blue sky surrounding

Leafless, open, elements routing
Cloudless, minus any doubting
Branching out to find a way
Not thinking over
Life each day

About Missing Home

Impressions form a story felt
See-through background dreams
Dappled gold the sun spills down
Not sure if I could leave

Happy 4th of July!

High Dynamic Range (poetic slide show)

Spectrum of brightness
Values alight
Ranging lost luminance
Exposures combine

Camera raw clear to hyperreal
Almost every color appears
Yet TMI for the monitor face
Though vivid hues still generate

This May We Find (for week 20 Rally)

Posted in Blog, HDR Photography, Image Poetry, writing with tags , , , , , , , on May 26, 2010 by dustus

It’s just about Thursday, which means rally time! Visit Jingle to take part and support the work of some talented individuals. Thank you.

As if golden touched
From a landscape brush
In such moments
Time’s slowing rush

Canvas lens
Sensor remembers
Feelings lend
When patience

Dynamic light blends
Relaxing your eyes
Every color you think
This may we find

At this time I would like to acknowledge all the winners of the Poet of April Award.  As voted by the members of our community, it is a peer honor that recognizes quite a list of talented poetry bloggers (myself gratefully included).  Please check out the complete list over at Jingle’s Blog.

Also, I am to nominate a poet. This week I choose Pete Marshall. You can read his rally poem at:
