Sacrificing a Sacred Cow

Posted in Poetry, writing with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 15, 2019 by dustus

Trough licked clean
Lathed scythe poised glinting
Bovine lulls
Ruminates…
Not knowing its blood shall let
Their cloudless sky rain

Princess Bling

Posted in Poetry with tags , , , , , , on June 14, 2019 by dustus

Princess Bling craves fancy things
But not as much as diamond rings
Her platinum bands do luster pale
From rocks that awe like quarter-sized hail!

Princess Bling loves lots of ice
Give her some, she’ll treat ya nice
With hair flair streaks
—blonde high-lit stripes

Faint glitter-dust
‘Round winsome eyes

Rose sleeve tattoos prove she’s quite tough
And workouts keep the hot bod buff
Though if someone asks what she thinks of
(Beyond selfie ‘grams & who she fucks)
A deadpan gaze and challenged mind
Can’t conjure lines nor sound refined

She’ll protest and claim
You’re too hard on her
Just jealous
To not get some part of her…

Thus, herein lies
Her crux and fate
Not everyone’s dumb
Nor taken by fakes

Radioactive Water to a Whale

Posted in Poetry, writing with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 8, 2019 by dustus

A Con Artist had sold
Radioactive water to a Whale
Who then crapped Titanic Turdbergs
So no ships could ever sail

The people were livid
The coastguard got pissed
Nobody could swim
Those turds killed all the fish!

A myriad of sea-life
Suffered mass genocide:
Lobster, otter, shark, crab
All plants & octopi

Manatees…. gone
No turtles survived
Seals chose to cliff-dive
To hasten their demise

This carnage spread far worse than
Any epic algae bloom
Birds perished in mid-air
From mad wafting toxic fume

Tourism soon died
Commercial ports had shut down
& the Con Artist counted (while laughing aloud):
Every last clam that Whale had shelled out–
He hoped to find pearls
Prying open their mouths

As for that sick Whale
While he took his last breath
He knew he’d been poisoned
By the real Moby-Dick

Our Love Song

Posted in Poetry with tags , , , , on June 6, 2019 by dustus

Love, I know you’re right
When you tease that I’m not wrong
It took too long to realize
That Life is our love song

I heard you’re free
And now I know
You’re spirited & strong
Still I would rather die alone
Then simply just move on

A world of hate could kill us
Time mends the worst of harm
Still we could block out all the pain
In each others healing arms

It’s you & me
Nobody else
Love will make that call
Still I’ll be there to catch you
If you should ever fall
