Lovesick

When winter days feel empty
Ahead of spring’s warm thrill

It gets me through the worst of time
To think she loves me still

But that’s just wishful thinking
Straight Bourbon with a pill
When coming down to realize
It’s not worth feeling ill

  1. Very poignant poem, Dustus.
Btw – good to see you’re still posting. I’m the music/writer guy and blogger from the UK, and I recently started a poetry blog. In between then and now, i did a piano CD, self published two novels and an autobiography and regularly upload music and portry to sites across the world. Hope you are well!
