This Fire Inside (a poem)

This Fire Inside

I’ve spent many years

Alone, with only belief in my craft

My calls unanswered

A spirit thrashed

Children's Garden

Recognizing my limits and abilities

As human

All the time

Seconds to ponder

Scenes of my life return by the hour

Still precious moments

Feel grateful for life

Music to living

New scenes to the eyes

Illumination from even the faintest light

Each day my soul stirs

Realizing my indecision and chance

My inner fight

It kept me alive

This fire inside

To which I ascribe
